Workshop: Taco Guay
In this workshop we had a diverse group of people with different migration backgrounds. But of course the workshop was open to all interested people who are open-minded and want to learn more about other cultures. About two thirds of the group had a migration background (for example Spain, Turkey, Poland), about one third of the group were interested people from Germany without a migration background. The age of the participants was also mixed: from teenagers to young adults.

During this workshop we also prepared tortillas, which were later filled with specialties from different countries. Mexican dishes were prepared with exclusive ingredients brought all the way from Mexico. That where later mixed with ingredients from Europe. Also other professors were invited to bring dishes they felt were representative of their own culture.
In this event we shared soundscapes from different countries. In this case the sound of Mexican and Spanish markets transported us to different countries.
We also shared the music of local Mexican artists that are currently living in Germany.
The participants were motivated to learn more from Mexican culture by tasting different ingredients and helping prepare the food. At the same time they were also encouraged to share unique things about their own culture.
